Monday, October 2 - The St. Catharine College Women's Soccer team hosted Mid South Conference opponent University of the Cumberlands today. The match was played at Mercer County High School in nearby Harrodsburg, Kentucky due to poor playing conditions at Barber Field on the SCC campus.
Last season Cumberlands defeated SCC 6-0 in the Conference match and the Lady Patriots were looking to improve on that showing. The first half was a closely fought battle, with Monica Milesky opening the scoring for SCC from a free kick after a Cumberlands foul. UC would even the score on a goal by Jamie Roberts before the half.
In the second half, UC would control the action early. They took the lead 10 minutes in on a goal by Leslie Allred. UC would score twice more in the next 10 minutes to take a 4-1 lead. SCC fought back and earned several chances, but would be unable to cut the deficit. The final score was University of the Cumberlands 4 - St. Catharine 1.
