The Patriot's (27-22-1) rebounded from a tough weekend by beating the NCAA DII Oakland City University Oaks 6-1 in Indiana Wednesday. SC scored 2 runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings in route to the road win. The win is the 100th win since joining the NAIA in just under 3 seasons.
Luis Zeledon (Los Angeles, CA) led the Patriots, going 3-4 with a double and 4 RBI's. Tyler Mischel (St. Louis, MO) added a 2-4 day and scored a run. Ryan Mangione (Lexington, KY), Carlos Hernandez (Fresno, CA) and Andrew Garcia (Las Vegas, NV) all doubled for the Patriots. Garcia added an RBI and scored 2 runs.
SC got a strong start from Timothy Reed (Tucson, AZ), he tossed 4 innings, allowing 2 hits a run and had 5 K's. Anthony Thorn (Elizabethtown, KY) finished out the game and picked up the win, going 5 innings, scattering 3 hits and had 3 K's.
The Patriots are scheduled to play their last home games this weekend, when they host The University of the Cumberlands in MSC action. Senior day will be Saturday.
