BASEBALL POUND REDHAWKS FOR WEEKEND SWEEP

The Patriot bats awoke on another cold windy afternoon at Edelen-Haydon Field as SCC (5-2) completed the three game sweep of Indiana University Northwest (0-3) 22-1 Sunday. The Patriots remain perfect at home and now prepare for a road game with NCAA DI Southeast Missouri State University on Wednesday.

Sophomore Brad Krohman (1-0) tossed four innings for his first win of the year. Krohman allowed 1 run on 3 hits and had 7 K's. SCC got three solid innings of relief from juniors Jeff Strong and Morgan Jones and red-shirt freshman Dustin Lewis. At the plate several Patriots had multi-hit games, led by a perfect 2-2, 2 run and 2 RBI day for junior Josh Landers. Junior Patrick Jones had a 2-4 day with 4 RBI and scored 2 runs and junior Jared Yates was 2-4 with 3 RBI and 2 runs. Junior Philip Dean had a 2-5 day with a double, 3 RBI and scored 2 runs. Red-shirt freshman transfer Brian Beavin had a 3-4 day with 3 RBI and 3 runs.

The Patriots move to 5-2, (5-0) at home and next play at SEMO on Wednesday at 4:00. They return home Thursday for a DH tilt with Oakland City University at 1:00, the start of a 7 game home stand in four days.
