Two former St. Catharine College golfers will be returning next year to rejoin Joan Rizer’s team. Kyleigh Kreyenbuhl and Catherine Boone will be back on the links next season for the Patriots after some time away from the program.
Kreyenbuhl attended St. Catharine last year when she played both golf and basketball. She attended the University of Kentucky this year before deciding to return to SC to major in management or biology. Boone was on the Patriot golf team in 2008-2009. She spent the last two years at Eastern Kentucky University pursuing a marketing degree.
Both players expressed similar sentiments about their return to St. Catharine. “I have acquired my associate degree and will finish my marketing degree at St. Catharine,” said Boone. “I am fond of the program here and I like the small class sizes.”
“I felt comfortable here,” said Kreyenbuhl who will also be part of the basketball program in some capacity. “You know everyone here and I like the small classes.”
Since leaving St. Catharine neither has had as much time on the course as they would like. “I have played in some scrambles with my Dad,” said Kreyenbuhl. “I wanted to play more but have been focusing more on school and academics,” added Boone. “But I’m looking forward to coming back. The golf team is amazing under Coach Rizer’s leadership. I always loved golfing at St. Catharine.”
“I am really glad to have both Kyleigh and Catherine back,” said Rizer. “They not only are good golfers but excellent students and good representatives of St. Catharine College.”
