Joe Clark, a senior at Washington County High School, will continue his track career at St. Catharine College next year. Clark signed a scholarship offer with Patriot coach Blake Jones Tuesday in the high school library.
“I am looking forward to having Joe in our track program next year,” said Jones. “It is always good to have local athletes decide to stay close to home.”
Joe’s mother, Sherry Clark, is also glad to see her son at a college nearby. “He will be living on campus so he will have that college experience. And the small classes at St. Catharine will help him make that transition from high school,” she said.
Jones said Clark will primarily be a sprinter (100, 200 and 400 meters) next year at St. Catharine. “I really like the relays, too,” added Clark who said he plans to pursue a major in Criminal Justice.
