Patriot Women's Soccer Coach, Paul Patton released the Fall 2011 team schedule today. The schedule is highlighted by a tough conference slate including games against perennial NAIA power Lindsey Wilson College, 2009 and 2010 conference runner-up Georgetown College, and nearby rival Campbellsville University.
Other matches with significant emphasis pit the Patriots against Brescia University in the season opener, an early trip to Spalding University, and a road match against traditional rival Midway College. "Our 2011 schedule is as tough as any we have undertaken," noted Coach Patton. "I think the level of play in our conference continues to improve and our non-conference schedule will be a good test for us as well. With the improvement in our talent and experience level, I think that we will be up to the task. I am definitely looking forward to the start of the season!"
Two additions to the schedule this season will be an Allumni Game on Saturday, August 13th at 7:00pm and the expansion of the Reserve Squad schedule to 10 games. Coach Patton commented, "I am happy that we have the opportunity to host an allumni game this season. We have enough allumni from my previous teams to participate, and we hope that we can reach out to allumni from the years prior to my tenure and invite them to participate. With the improvement in our program the last couple of years and the additions to campus, this is the perfect time to start a new tradition and let the allumni see the growth of the campus and our athletic programs."
