With a full roster in front of them, including 13 new freshmen signees, the SCC Lady Patriots take the field in preparation for the 2011-12 season. "We are very excited about our 2011 recruiting class." Head Coach Holly Smith stated. "Combined with our returning upperclassmen, I think that we are going to be a strong competitor in the always tough, Mid-South Conference."

The Lady Patriots coaching staff is looking forward to this group, including 4 pitchers and 9 position players, to help build a strong foundation for a growing program. Included in this group are three locals from Nelson Co. High School, which has dominated their competition, winning their conference 21 years and running. Non-locals, including an Indiana native, make up the remainder of the group bringing in speed, heart, and determination.

"This class brings in many student-athletes that have a past of excelling on and off of the playing field, which is only going to make our program stronger." says Assistant Coach Felicia Smith. "These kids know what it takes to succeed and they have already proven to us that they are ready to continue that here at St. Catharine."

The new recruits are not the only thing the Lady Pats are looking forward to this year. 15 returners, including 7 starters, form the remainder of the Lady Patriots roster. "We are really looking for our returners to step it up this year." says Head Coach Smith. "We lacked leadership last year and the girls know that this was a huge factor in our season. They know what they need to do and I think they are ready to accept the challenge we've laid out for them."

The Lady Pats will begin their first fall ball game on October 1st at NCAA Bellarmine University. Start time will be noon.
