The Lindsey Wilson College Women’s Soccer team entered Saturday’s game against St. Catharine with a lofty NAIA ranking of third in the nation. The Blue Raiders played like a nationally prominent team as they beat the Lady Patriots 6-0.
Lindsey Wilson, 3-0-1, scored three times in each half of the game played at Marion County High School. The loss, in the conference opener for both teams, left the Patriots with a record of 1-2.
The Blue Raiders fired 16 shots on goal. Patriot goalkeeper Lindsey Vinson made several excellent saves in turning away 10 of those shots. St. Catharine was unable to make any shots on goal against the talented Lindsey Wilson defense.
The Patriots are back in action Tuesday with a non-conference game against Union College starting at 8:00 pm. That game will be preceded by a men’s game against conference rival Lindsey Wilson at 6:00 pm. Both games will be played Nelson County High School.
