Lindsey Wilson, ranked fourth nationally in the NAIA, broke open a close game Tuesday with four second half goals en route to a 6-0 win over Tim Wolz’s Patriots. The game was played at Nelson County High School.
Leading 2-0, the Blue Raiders scored five minutes into the second half and then added three more goals for the final margin. But St. Catharine head coach Tim Wolz was not discouraged by the setback that left his team with a 0-3-1 record.
“The score doesn’t indicate it, but we played very well,” said Wolz. “We had a number of good looks but couldn’t finish.”
Lindsey Wilson had 11 shots on goal while the Patriots had four shots on frame, three of them by Ashley Woods.
With the win Lindsey Wilson improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the Mid-South Conference.
