A two out walkoff infield single by Tyler Mischel (St. Louis, MO) plated Luis Zeledon (Los Angles, CA) for the lone run in a epic game 4 of the annual Fall Talent Show Series. Team Davis wins the series, 3-1, taking his 8th straight series.
Over shadowed by the extra inning ending, were outstanding performances on the mound. Cody Alvey (Upton, KY) picked up the win in relief. He tossed 2.2 innings and dominated Team Ched by punching out 7 of the nine batters he faced to finish the shutout. Ryan Rizzi (Lansing, IL) started for Team Davis and hurled the first 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs on 4 hits and had 5 K's. Timothy Reed (Tucson, AZ) tossed a gem as well, throwing 7.2 innings of shutout ball. He scattered 4 hits and tallied 2 K's in his 85 pitch performance. Javier Perez (Henderson, NV) suffered the loss in 1 plus innings of work. He allowed 2 hits and had a K.
Zeledon led Team Davis, going 2-4 with a run and a stolen base. Joey Xavier (Selma, CA) had a 2-4 game and started the rally in the 9th. Team Ched was led by Andrew Garcia (Las Vegas, NV) who was on base 3 times, going 1-2 with 2 walks. Eric Standafer (Shelbyville, KY) doubled as well.
"It was another competitive series," noted Patriot Skipper Luther Bramblett. "We had great performances on the mound, web gems in every game and some clutch hitting. It's a great finish to the fall."
Team Ched has the dubious honor of putting on a talent show for the student body. Times will be announced for that event at a later date.
