The St. Catharine College women traveled Thursday to Midway, trying to keep their non-conference record perfect for the year. And Lena Bramblett’s women, focused from the outset, brought home a 77-49 win over the Eagles. The victory gave the Patriots an 11-3 overall record, all 11 wins of the non-conference variety.
St. Catharine took a 40-18 halftime lead and were never threatened in pulling away to the 28 point final margin. They shot 50 percent for the game while holding Midway (1-11) to 31 percent. The Patriots were 5-9 from 3-pointrange 56 percent.
Janae Howard led the Patriots with 25 points. The 6-2 junior from Owensboro also had three blocks and six steals. Howard is currently leading the nation in total points scored. Kasei Evans added 17 points and eight rebounds.
The Patriots now head to warmer weather where they will play in Miami next Tuesday and Wednesday. They will play Florida Memorial University on Tuesday and Northwood University on Wednesday.
