The St. Catharine Women's Soccer team added another recruit for 2012 yesterday, when Kaitlyn Harder officially joined the program.
Flanked by her parents, John Harder and Melinda Harder, Kaitlyn signed an NAIA scholarship contract in the Lourdes Hall Gymnasium on the St. Catharine Campus. Kaitlyn played defender the past four years for Paul Brooks' Mercer County High School girls soccer team. She earned All District honors in 2011, helping Mercer County to their best season ever. She was an anchor of the Titans' second ranked defense that had 17 shutouts in 17 wins this season.
Mercer County High School Head Girls Soccer Coach Paul Brooks, present at the signing, commented on Kaitlyn. "Kaitlyn is an asset to any team. For the past two years she has been a perennial anchor for a defense that was ranked number two in the state this season. Her speed and work ethic will serve St. Catharine well. I look forward to seeing both Kaitlyn and the SCC Soccer Program continue to develop."
In addition to playing soccer at St. Catharine, Kaitlyn plans to study Teacher Education.
