During her high school career, she was named All District 13 twice and  earned All Region 7 recognition twice.  She was named First Team All State as a senior as well as making the Louisville Catholic Sports All-State team.  She was team Captain and was named Most Valuable Player for Sacred Heart as a senior.

In addition to her play for the Valkyries, Sara also played club soccer in the spring. She won a State Cup Championship in 2008 with Javanon and was a member of two State Cup Champion teams in 2010 and 2011 with Mockingbird Valley Soccer Club.

Patriot Coach Paul Patton commented on the signing of Herbert, “Today is a banner day for the St. Catharine College Women’s Soccer Program. Sara is a tremendous talent, a great student, and a good person as well. Best of all, she’s a winner. She has won 5 state championships and will bring that intensity and will to win to our team. I can’t wait to coach her in the fall!”

Sara is the daughter of Chris and Leslie Herbert, hails from Valley Station and plans to study Nursing at St. Catharine.
