Travis Wilkins was honored as the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday night. Wilkins is the second Patriot to receive the award this year. Kashiff Carr was the Player of the Week for November 14th.
Wilkins averaged 19.5 points and eight rebounds per game last week in a pair of wins over UVa.-Wise and No. 22-ranked University of Pikeville.
The Spartanburg, S.C., junior center helped the Patriots to a 104-91 win over UVa.-Wise on Thursday with 19 points, four rebounds and a season-high five assists. Wilkins missed just two of his 11 shots in the win.
On Saturday, Wilkins recorded a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds while blocking four Pikeville shots in a 90-85 win over the Bears.
For the week, Wilkins connected on 84.2 percent (16-of-19) of his shots from the field. He also averaged three assists and 2.5 blocks per game last week.
Wilkins is averaging 13.9 points and 8.5 rebounds in his 11 games this season.
