Two juco recruits have signed NAIA Letter's of Intent to join the Patriot Baseball squad for the 2012-2013 season. These make the first recruits to sign the the SC program for next year. Both players play at Lincoln Trail C.C. for Kevin Bowers and are Kentucky kids returning to their home state.
Jacob Hall (Louisville, KY / PRP High School) is a left-handed pitcher. The 6-1, 190 lefty will pitch in the Statesmen rotation this spring. Hall went 1-1 with a 4.66 ERA last year. He pitched 27 innings with just 9 walks to 29 K's.
"Jake is a solid arm that will pound the zone," noted Luther Bramblett. "He competes very well and will make an impact to our staff. He's a KY kid from a great high school program and expects to win. We saw him up to 86 this fall and expect him to get even better. We are excited to have him join our club."
Josh Whitmer (Mt. Washington, KY / Bullitt East High School) is a left-handed hitting OF/corner infielder. Whitmer, 6-2, 205, hits in the middle of the Statesmen lineup. He batted .279 last year with 6 doubles, a triple and 13 RBI's.
"Josh is another winner," stated Bramblett. "He wants to win and works hard. He has some serious pop in his bat and will continue to improve. He too, is a KY kid from a great high school program. We are excited to have him compete for us."
