Soccer (M): Harry Mason

Harry Mason is originally from Sutton Coldfield, England and comes to the Patriots from fellow Mid-South Conference member, Cumberland (Tenn.). Mason was a standout for the Bulldogs when he played from 2010-2014.

Before attending Cumberland in 2010, Mason was soccer letterwinner at Streetly School in Sutton Coldfield. While at Streetly, Mason helped lead his club to five league championships in seven years. They also won the West Midlands Cup and reached the quarterfinals of the National Cup.

Mason also had a successful spell with Birmingham City F.C. in England before coming to the states. He also lived in Switzerland for two years while playing for F.C. Ettingen and having a stint with F.C. Basel. He is also a National Futsal FA Cup finalist.

Mason continued his stellar career while attending Cumberland University for four years. He was a four year varsity starter as a Bulldog. He was named to the second team all-conference in the TranSouth during his sophomore year and was also named to the Mid-South Conference first team in both his junior and sophomore years.

While at Cumberland, Mason scored a total of 57 goals in 71 games, making him one of the leading goal scorers in the University’s history. He also tabbed 19 assists throughout his four years. Mason has also played in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) for The Gulf Coast Texas in 2013 where he received the top goal scorer award for the club that season, starting all of the matches.

He has also been an assistant coach for the men’s team at Lebanon High School, where they reached the district tournament semi-final, one of the best runs in the school’s history. He is currently coaching the 03 boys blue and 06 academy at Tennessee United Soccer Club.

Not only was Mason a standout soccer player for the Bulldogs, but he was an even better student. He was a TranSouth Athletic Conference scholar athlete in 2011 and was named to the Mid-South Conference Academic All-Conference in both 2012 and 2013. He was also named to the Dean’s List five times while at Cumberland.

Mason graduated from Cumberland University with a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Sports Management.
