In addition, he added the youth program at Taylor County.

In the first year of competition the Taylor County High School team produced 1 state qualifier and 5 state alternates from a group of kids who had never wrestled a day in their life prior to meeting Coach Adams in October of 2012.

Before starting up a program at Taylor County he was a stand-out collegiate wrestler at Campbellsville University. During his four years at Campbellsville University he became a 4X National Qualifier, 3X All-American, 3X MSC Champion, and holds the record for the second highest wins count in school history.

While at Campbellsville University he also excelled off the mat, he was team captain 2009-2012, awarded team champions of character award in 2012. Academically, he received the environmental biology award in 2012, the earth stewardship award in 2012, and graduated undergraduate school with a major in Biology. Throughout his career as a wrestler from Marion, Ohio to Campbellsville, KY he has been deeply influenced by many great coaches, in whom he fully credits his success as a wrester and a coach. Some of those influential individuals are as follows; Coach Franky James who is a 3X MSC coach of the year for Campbellsville University. Coach Gary Darling who is in the Michigan Wrestling Coaches Hall-of-Fame, Coach Doug Short who is in the Ohio Wrestling Coaches Hall-of-Fame, Jeff and Rocky Ratliff who were standout wrestlers for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Coach Sergei Kitaev who was the Head Olympic Wrestling Coach for Belarus in the 2012 London Olympic games, and Coach Doug Blubaugh who was a 1960 Olympic Champion.

Coach Adams looks forward to passing on all the wrestling knowledge from these individuals on to the next generation as they enter his program at St. Catharine College.

He is presently married to his wife Brandie and has a wonderful 2 year old son by the name of Elijah. They recently welcomed their second son, Owen, into the world.
